Frequently Asked Questions

1

What is stamped concrete ?

Stamped Concrete is regular concrete that's textured and patterned to mimic high-end materials like stone, brick, tile, or even wood. It's a durable and cost-effective way to achieve a custom, decorative look for patios, driveways, walkways, and more.

2

How long does stamped or regular concrete last ?

When properly installed and maintained, concrete surfaces can last 25-30 years or more. Stamped concrete offers the same lifespan as traditional concrete while adding the benefit of aesthetic design. Regular sealing and care of stamped concrete will help preserve both the appearance and integrity of the surface.

3

Will my concrete crack ?

Yes - all concrete has the potential to crack.

Concrete naturally shrinks as it cures and can also expand and contract in temperature changes. Even with the best materials and workmanship, hairline cracks are common and expected overtime.

4

What to do to help prevent cracking ?

While cracks can't be 100% prevented, we take several steps to minimize them:

- We use high-strength concrete mixes designed for durability.

- We install expansion joints and control joints to help manage where cracks occur.

- We reinforce slabs with fiber mesh and/or rebar depending on the project.

- We ensure proper ground preparation and thickness

5

How noticeable are cracks in stamped concrete ?

Most cracks that do appear in stamped concrete are hairline-sized and can often blend into the pattern or texture.

6

Does stamped concrete require maintenance ?

YES. To keep your stamped concrete looking its best and to protect it from weather, wear, and UV damage, we recommend resealing every 2-3 years. This keeps the color vibrant and reestablishes a layer of protection.

 7

Can I park a vehicle on stamped concrete ?

Absolutely - as long as the concrete has been poured at the correct depth and with the proper reinforcement. For driveways and parking area, we always ensure the concrete is poured with correct PSI that gives it the strength to handle vehicle weight.

 8

How long before I can use my concrete after its poured ?

Generally:

- Foot traffic: 36-48 hours

- Vehicle traffic: 7 days

- Full cure time: 28 days (for max strength)
